Welcome
Welcome to Whole Life Nutrition! We are Ali and Tom—parents of five amazing children, authors, and educators. Tom has spent the last 10 years studying functional medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine and is an Advanced Functional Medicine Practitioner. Ali has spent over the last decade fine-tuning her whole foods recipes and cooking skills to offer the most soul-satisfying, healing recipes. In addition to creating healing recipes, Ali focuses on functional nutrition and intuitive eating, helping others understand how to better take care of themselves in an easy-to-understand manner. Together they have married the latest in nutritional science and whole foods cooking to bring you Whole Life Nutrition.
This increasing prevalence of diseases and disorders in children, such as ADD, ADHD, autoimmune disorders, autism, anxiety, depression, bowel disorders, cancers, skin disorders, and food allergies, inspires us to do all that we can to slow this trend and protect the next seven generations.
I’m sure all of you parents can relate. Right after your first child is born and you are cradling this beautiful new baby in your arms, your heart swells and your priorities change. You now have motivation to make sure the world is a safe and wonderful place. However, today our children are overwhelmed with exposures to harmful chemicals, processed foods, nutrient deficiencies, and the stress of modern day life.
So how do we create a safe place for our children to grow up in? We educate ourselves, and we act…….now! This starts by taking care of our own health as parents, for it is impossible to serve others if we ourselves are in a state of dis-ease.
If you haven’t already, start by picking up a copy of our Whole Life Nutrition Cookbook or Nourishing Meals Cookbook. These books give you the background information you need to make healthy choices in the kitchen and in life. Then, we recommend going through the Elimination Diet so you can discover the foods that are making you sick and tired. Through this process you will be able to reset your system so you can have a sharp mind, steady energy, and be pain-free. When we feel good we are able to live to our fullest potential, as well as have the energy we need to care for our children in a way that deeply nourishes them.
